Overview
SAFEbuilt is seeking an Electrical Inspector to join our team. You’ll be a member of our professional team with access to resources and exciting projects. Responsibilities- Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
- Read and examine plans and specifications as required
- Report violations and maintain files/records
- Perform other related duties as required
- Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
- Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
- Ability to positively interact with staff, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management, organization, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated initiative and independent judgment
- CO Journeyman or Master Electrician License required
- ICC Electrical Inspector Certification preferred
- Additional ICC certifications are a plus
- Electrician experience required
- Experience in municipal code inspections preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Mobility & Movement:
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, or kneeling to conduct inspections; ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or unfinished stairways to access roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other elevated or confined areas. - Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 25–50 pounds (e.g., inspection tools, plans, or small equipment).
- Visual acuity sufficient to read construction plans and observe construction details
- Ability to detect safety hazards and defects through visual and auditory inspection
- Hearing sufficient to communicate with contractors, workers, and the public in noisy environments
- Use of hands and fingers to handle tools, operate inspection equipment, and use computers/tablets for reporting
- Work performed in both office and field settings
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction site environments (noise, dust, uneven terrain)
- Frequent driving between inspection sites and company locations within a region
Compensation range: $28-$37/hour.
