Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Overview
Mechanic (Ready‑Mix Truck) – Full‑time, permanent, field‑based position at the Fort Lupton Plant.
Responsibilities- Inspect, diagnose, and repair ready‑mix trucks, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on service vehicles: fueling, cleaning, fluid checks, tire/light inspections.
- Operate mobile equipment (service trucks) to retrieve or service downed assets.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Weld, repair, and fabricate metal parts or assemblies as required.
- Purchase repair parts and materials as needed.
- Provide on‑site service support at other BURNCO plants or job sites when required.
- Assist in training and mentoring co‑workers to ensure consistent maintenance practices.
- Follow all BURNCO safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum one year of truck mechanic experience.
- Solid understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance practices.
- Skilled in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and safety devices.
- Knowledge of standard maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout and special work permits.
- Proficiency with computers and maintenance‑related software systems.
- Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
- Must supply personal tools up to ¾‑inch drive.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High school diploma considered an asset.
- Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks preferred.
Full‑time permanent position at the Fort Lupton Plant, Colorado. Regular outdoor work with exposure to heat, cold, rain, and snow. Work involves standing, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lb.
Travel to various job sites required as needed. Must wear personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, vests, glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats. Safety‑sensitive role requiring successful completion of PSP, MVR, background check, and pre‑employment drug test.
Salary & BenefitsSalary range: $28 and up per hour, rate determined based on experience.
