Assistant Controller

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing organization, is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to partner closely with operations and leadership while contributing to financial reporting, cost management, internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position provides broad exposure to manufacturing finance and serves as a key contributor to the company's financial integrity and operational success.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger, journal entries, and supporting financial records in accordance with company policies and internal control standards.
• Partner with site leadership to analyze financial performance, manage costs, and support operational decision-making.
• Prepare and review monthly controllable expense reporting and variance analyses.
• Coordinate balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with physical inventory counts, cycle count programs, and inventory-related financial reporting.
• Maintain accounting records for fixed assets, including property, plant, equipment, and tooling.
• Support internal, external, and corporate audit activities, ensuring compliance with financial and control requirements.
• Assist with accounting for intercompany transactions, scrap activity, and related operational processes.
• Collaborate with shared services teams regarding accounts payable activities and payment reviews.
• Support standard costing and actual costing processes within the manufacturing environment.
• Participate in initiatives focused on strengthening internal controls, improving efficiency, and reducing costs.
• Communicate financial information effectively to operational stakeholders and promote sound financial decision-making.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Experience working within a regulated or compliance-focused environment preferred.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
