Purchasing Assistant
Job Description
The Purchasing Assistant supports the supply chain function by coordinating purchasing, shipping, and receiving activities for parts and accessory inventory. This role maintains accurate inventory records in ERP and CRM systems, assists with material management across multiple departments, and provides administrative and technical support to ensure timely and efficient order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
+ Order, track, and maintain appropriate inventory levels of parts and accessories to support operational needs.
+ Update inventory data accurately in ERP and CRM systems to ensure real-time visibility of stock levels and transactions.
+ Pick and pack internal transfer requests and process them in the ERP system in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Receive inbound products from vendor orders or internal transfers, label items correctly, and put them away in designated storage locations.
+ Verify vendor and internal paperwork for accuracy and completeness, and post corresponding transactions in the ERP system.
+ Process purchase orders for requests from multiple departments and send orders to vendors as required.
+ Handle internal communication via email, Microsoft Teams, or designated reports to coordinate purchasing and inventory activities.
+ Deliver internal transfers as needed to ensure departments receive required parts and accessories.
+ Support the parts department with technical research and customer order fulfillment to help resolve inquiries and meet customer needs.
+ Assist with the cycle count program and participate in physical inventory counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
+ Perform related duties as needed to support purchasing, shipping, receiving, and material management activities across all departments.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency with MS Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
+ Experience in purchasing and processing purchase orders.
+
Experience with invoicing and basic accounts payable support.
+
Experience with inventory management, including receiving, labeling, stocking, and inventory control.
+ Ability to provide administrative support in a supply chain or materials management environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
+ Effective communication skills for coordinating via email, Microsoft Teams, and internal reports.
+ Ability to work full time on-site in a manufacturing environment.

+ Experience supporting shipping and receiving functions for parts and accessories.
+ Familiarity with CRM systems for tracking orders and customer-related information.
+ Experiance in material management across multiple departments.
+ Ability to assist with technical research related to parts and accessories.
+ Comfort working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-office position based in a manufacturing environment. The role involves working on-site with ERP and CRM systems such as MS Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Excel, handling physical inventory, and coordinating closely with multiple departments. The position requires regular interaction with warehouse or shop floor areas for receiving, labeling, stocking, and delivering parts and accessories, as well as office-based administrative and communication tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.70/hr.
