Join our dynamic educational team as a Physical Education Teacher, where you will inspire students to develop a lifelong love for health, fitness, and active living. Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive physical education curricula aligned with developmental standards and inclusive practices.
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate diverse activities, including sports, fitness exercises, and movement education, tailored to various age groups including early childhood and preschool students.
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technology tools to track student progress, assign activities, and communicate with students and parents effectively.
- Adapt instruction for students with disabilities or special needs, ensuring equitable access to physical education experiences.
- Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and integrating literacy and math concepts into physical activities when appropriate.
- Provide guidance on health, wellness, and nutrition topics as part of holistic student development initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori or other specialized educational approaches, and current best practices in physical education.
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience teaching physical education at various levels, including preschool or early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design for diverse learners.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms (LMS) for tracking student progress and delivering engaging lessons.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior proactively while fostering a positive learning environment.
- Certifications or training in child development theories such as Montessori or Toddler care are advantageous.
