Make a positive impact this school year by guiding and supporting students in a Social Emotional Behavior classroom for grades 3-5. This full-time contract opportunity involves working closely with exceptional learners in an engaging, in-person environment near Windsor, CT. Collaborate with dedicated colleagues and help students develop both academically and socially from 8:20 AM to 3:40 PM, Monday through Friday. The assignment runs until October, with potential for extension.

Qualifications:
  • Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher, or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Experience or passion for working in special education settings, specifically with social-emotional or behavioral needs
  • Ability to create inclusive, individualized lesson plans and behavior support strategies
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and positive classroom environment
  • Experience with elementary-aged children (grades 3-5) preferred
  • Willingness to work on-site for the entire contract duration
Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized instruction and behavioral interventions tailored to each students IEP
  • Foster the social and emotional growth of students within a supportive classroom
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to develop effective learning strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation of progress, behavior, and interventions
  • Implement classroom management plans and routines to ensure a productive learning atmosphere
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing program improvement

Working in this position allows you to help shape positive outcomes in the lives of young learners, while developing your professional skills in a collaborative school setting.
