What You Will Do
  • Responsible for determining electrical manufacturing methods for hardware and ensuring that the processes are available.
  • Create manufacturing assembly documentation, concept tools and provide technical assistance to assemble high quality, high engineered hardware for use in Life support and Thermal control applications, including support for external suppliers. Support failure investigations, determine root cause of failure, implement corrective actions and disposition of non-conforming hardware, in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Determine and create the sequence of larger and more complex operations and installations, and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other processes, including disassembly/assembly and repairs, to ensure efficiency and optimize performance.
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements as well as applicable quality requirements.
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts to optimize productivity and use of resources.
  • Perform cost estimates, work to schedules, and write procedures and policies.
  • Review drawings and concepts and resolve producibility concerns, including recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
  • Collaborate effectively within an integrated product development team and design environment.
  • Present to senior management on various topics and participate in initiatives such as ACE, Process Certification, Manufacturing Process Reviews, Lean Manufacturing and EH&S projects.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and communicate well within an integrated product development team, staff and management.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM focus.
  • Familiarity with modeling/design packages such as Creo is desired.
  • Background in electrical design and/or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and special processing such as IPC-J-STD-001E/ES, NASA-STD-8739.1, and NASA-STD-8739.4.
  • Strong knowledge of Continuous improvement methods (e.g., Shainin/Red X, Design of Experiments, DMAIC, Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis).

Salary range: 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. This is a good faith range for all experience levels. Hiring considerations include role, location, experience, and skills. Benefits are determined by the business unit and may be subject to collective-bargaining agreements.
