The NPI Engineer manages product development from concept through production launch, ensuring readiness, quality, and efficiency across all project phases.
Responsibilities- Lead cross‑functional teams—incl. engineering, production, quality, sales, and marketing—through the full new product introduction process.
- Translate customer and market requirements into manufacturable product designs and validated production solutions.
- Develop project cost estimates and timelines to support business cases and schedule commitments.
- Coordinate tooling and process design, prototype builds, and production ramp‑up until successful handoff to manufacturing.
- Plan, execute, and track projects using structured methods (e.g., phase gate, Gantt charts, milestone reviews).
- Interface with customers and suppliers to align expectations, manage deliverables, and resolve issues during development.
- Contribute directly to technical activities such as design reviews, product sampling, and process validation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 10+ years of equivalent experience in manufacturing and program management.
- Minimum of 3 years in product launch, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
- Experience with automotive, aerospace, or medical quality systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Proficient in using spreadsheets for analysis, scheduling, and tracking tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead team meetings effectively.
