As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical evaluation, development, and execution of repair processes for gas turbine engine components within an MRO facility. This includes troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to restore parts to serviceable condition while ensuring compliance with industry standards, OEM requirements and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop repair processes for gas turbine engine components including fan cases, stators, nozzles, composite panels, vanes and other engine hardware.
- Conduct inspections, modeling, and analysis of damaged or worn parts.
- Apply Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to improve repair efficiency, reduce turnaround time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including: DER’s, design, manufacturing, and quality to ensure repair solutions meet performance and durability standards.
- Prepare technical documentation including repair procedures, specifications, and reports required for FAA approval.
- Support tooling design and calibration for repair operations.
- Lead or contribute to project teams focused on new repair repair capability development, process improvements, new equipment implementation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in gas turbine engine repair or mechanical design.
- Experience writing engineering documentation required for FAA DER approval.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as brazing, welding, EDM, and coating applications.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with CAD, FEA, CNC programming and machining.
- Excellent communication and project management abilities.
This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
