Position Summary

The Production Engineer is an essential position that directly impacts product integrity, performance, revenue, delivery and turnaround time. The Production Engineer will support the repair of various gas turbine components and will have responsibility for a special process such as Heat Treatment, Brazing, Blending, Grit Blasting, Plasma Spray or another to be determined by the applicant's qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for production, monitor yield and rework, disposition non-conforming parts, and perform Root Cause / Cause Mapping and Corrective Action to prevent future issues
  • Execute a plan to successfully achieve production readiness for all process equipment within the process cell.
  • Contribute and lead efforts to design, manufacture, and implement process tooling, fixtures, and gauging required to support the process cell.
  • Support the training of all employees on the operation, maintenance, and control of the equipment.
  • Support maintenance in the development and implementation of a robust preventative maintenance program for each piece of process equipment.
  • Create process documentation including, but not limited to, equipment operation instructions, product work instructions, training programs, calibration instructions, process specifications, and quality data records.
Production support responsibilities
  • Participate in Kaizen and Green Belt events.
  • Implement Six Sigma and DMAIC skills to problem solve and improve processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or other science-based discipline (i.e. Materials, Chemistry, Physics) is required.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Engineer in a lean manufacturing environment within aerospace manufacturing (gas turbine experience preferred).
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as Siemens NX.
  • CNC robotic programming experience is preferred.
  • Ability to access, read, and follow PLC logic and perform basic troubleshooting efforts is preferred.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
