Step into a rewarding contract opportunity delivering physical therapy services part-time for students ages 6 to 21, spanning two engaging school sites. As a key member of a dedicated educational team, you will work 25 hours per week during the academic year, with the option to extend into the summer program if extended school year (ESY) participation interests you.
This position is tailored for physical therapists with school-based experience who are passionate about supporting students in a behaviorally focused educational environment grounded in applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
Qualifications &Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in Connecticut
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations
- Familiarity with ABA principles and strong behavioral programs
- Collaborative, solution-oriented approach and strong communication skills
- Flexible and organized, able to effectively manage a caseload across two sites
- Deliver individualized and group physical therapy services for students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with special educators, occupational therapists, and behavior analysts in implementing student IEPs
- Contribute to multidisciplinary teams by providing input for functional, behavioral, and developmental goals
- Document treatment, progress, and outcomes in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Engage in consultation and training sessions with school staff and families to support carryover of strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed, sharing expert recommendations and progress updates
- Travel between Windsor and Bloomfield sites as required
