As a Structural Design & Analysis (SDA) Manager, you will lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for the structural integrity of pressure boundary components and reactor vessel internal components, including ASME Section III stress and fatigue, and ASME Section XI flaw evaluations. The team works on Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering (CE) plant designs. You will report to the Director, Reactor Component Engineering and be located at our Windsor, CT location with the option to work in a hybrid capacity.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of engineers, including performance management, career development, and hiring
- Set performance expectations, provide coaching, feedback, and formal performance evaluations
- Support career development through training plans, stretch assignments, and succession planning
- Build a collaborative team culture emphasizing technical thoughtfulness, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
- Manage hiring, onboarding, workload leveling, and retention of technical talent
- Oversee work planning, prioritization, and resource management across inspection support and ageing management projects
- Ensure high-quality delivery of engineering work products in alignment with internal quality processes and industry standards
- Provide management-level technical oversight
- Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, and a safe and quality culture
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, materials, nuclear, or related field)
- 8+ years of experience in nuclear plant engineering
- Experience as a people manager or team lead with responsibility for performance management and staff development
The base salary range for this position, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be 144,000 to 180,000 per year.
