The Mechanical Assembler assembles preformed sheet metal parts using equipment such as drills, wrenches, high‑pressure carts, etc. The ideal candidate also assembles and pressure‑tests valves and similar components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Use equipment such as drills, wrenches, high‑pressure carts, screwdrivers, hammers, and other tools to perform duties safely.
- Operate equipment with personal safety and team safety in mind.
- Assemble and pressure‑test valves and similar components.
- Accurately and efficiently interpret assembly and sub‑assembly drawings and sketches.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the individual work area.
- Maintain a daily time log of work done on manufacturing and/or production travelers.
- Perform other assignments as directed by immediate or higher supervisor(s).
- Establish standards and procedures for continuous improvement (CIT).
- Maintain currency of technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, technical courses, seminars, exhibits, and trade shows as needed.
- Experience assembling preformed sheet metal parts and operating mechanical equipment.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read, interpret drawings and use measuring scale or tape proficiently.
- Ability to work in team or solo environments.
- Familiarity with tablets and computers.
2nd Shift | Monday‑Friday | 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm | 7% Shift Differential
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.
