Position Description
Ryder is hiring a permanent full‑time Pallet Inspector/Material Handler at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
Compensation & Schedule- $20.00 per hour; possible $2.00 increase after 90 days
- Schedule:
First Shift Sunday–Thursday 6:00 am–2:30 pm

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- 1–2 years or more in carpentry or manufacturing (preferred)
- Ability to comprehend basic math
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a diverse environment
- Highly thorough, dependable, and punctual with good attendance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High initiative, accuracy, and ability to handle pressure
- Team player who builds professional relationships at all levels
- Operate power equipment safely
- Lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs; twist, stoop, squat, reach, and crouch frequently
- Use hands and feet simultaneously for repetitive movements
- Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling/twisting
- Stand and walk extended periods (≥2 hours), up to four times per 8‑hour shift
- Inspect pallets safely and securely at a rate meeting company standards
- Manually lift 70‑lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line, and lift pallets for inspection/separation using the Palmatics machine
- Ensure proper inspection and separation procedures
- Conduct physical inventories as required
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
- Assist in maintaining warehouse security
- Follow safety procedures and OSHA/MSDS standards
- Wear all required safety equipment while repairing pallets
- Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
- Perform other duties as assigned
