Responsibilities:

Program and optimize CNC laser cutting machines using industry‑standard nesting and programming software to support efficient production operations.
Develop material‑efficient nesting layouts to maximize sheet utilization and reduce scrap.
Review and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, specifications, and work orders to ensure accurate and precise part manufacturing.
Partner with engineering, production, and shop floor teams to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
Modify machine programs based on equipment capabilities, material specifications, thickness, and production requirements.
Maintain organized programming records, documentation, and file management systems to support repeat manufacturing jobs.
Troubleshoot programming, cutting, or machine‑related issues and implement corrective actions to maintain productivity and quality standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on process efficiency, product quality, waste reduction, and throughput enhancement.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience programming CNC laser cutting equipment within a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
Hands‑on experience with nesting and programming software such as BySoft, SigmaNEST, Tru Tops, or comparable systems.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, materials, and production methods.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems is considered an advantage.
Experience in a job shop or high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with secondary fabrication processes, including bending, welding, and finishing operations.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
