What Will You Do?Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and shapers to fabricate metal parts.
- Set up, calibrate, and test equipment and evaluate the results of the test data.
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Work from drawings and process sheets to perform production tasks.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning, and tool replacement.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Conform to specifications, drawings, order requirements, and applicable codes or standards.
- Inspect shafts, impellers, castings and casings.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Stooping for long periods of time.
- Bending for long periods of time.
- High school diploma or a GED.
- 3 years of experience working in a quality environment in manufacturing.
- Pay attention to details.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Ability to work on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must possess mechanical aptitude.
- Must understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques.
- Must be able to pass drug screening.
