The afternoon brings DFM feedback with design engineering on a new release, followed by a quick Kaizen to squeeze waste out of a critical workflow—all while keeping safety, environmental, and regulatory standards front and center.
What You’ll DoDevelop and implement robust CNC machining processes for New Product Introduction (NPI), including tooling, fixtures, and programming for multi-axis equipment.
Create, refine, and validate CNC programs using CAD/CAM platforms, ensuring they meet drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
Analyze end-to-end workflows to boost throughput, cut cycle times, and eliminate waste.
Partner with design engineers to drive manufacturability (DFM) early in the design phase.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions.
Evaluate and select CNC machines, tooling, and technologies appropriate for NPI ramps.
Author and maintain process documentation: work instructions, setup sheets, and SOPs.Train and mentor machinists and operators on best practices, probing, macros, and quality standards.
Champion Lean initiatives—5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen—to enable continuous improvement.
Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications 5+ years in CNC machining and process engineering.
Hands-on CNC programming, setup, and operation, including probing and macro programming.
Proficiency with CAD/CAM (Solid Works CAD, Esprit CAM, Siemens NX CAD/CAM) and verification with VERICUT.Deep experience in multi-axis machining: 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, plus multi-axis mill-turn lathes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer standards.
Strong command of GD&T (Y14.5) and blueprint reading.
Extensive use of metrology and measurement systems.
Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing and process optimization experience.
Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
Clear communicator and effective collaborator across functions.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
