Emergency Veterinary Technician (Part-time, Weekends) - New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center
Pet Vet Care Centers' New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center is a leading specialty and oncology hospital located in Windsor, Connecticut. We are seeking a dedicated PT Weekends Emergency Veterinary Technician to support hospital operations by delivering high‑quality veterinary care and exceptional client service.
Position Overview
Key responsibilities include determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.
What We'll Do:
- Triage and stabilize patients
- Place IV catheters, draw blood, run in‑house diagnostics
- Monitor critical patients and assist with emergency procedures
- Administer medications, CRIs, and blood products
- Calculate medical math, including constant‑rate infusions, and administer medications appropriately
- Provide clear, compassionate updates to clients
- Address client concerns with patience and empathy
What We're Looking for:
- 1+ year of veterinary technician experience (ER preferred but not required)
- Strong phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills
- Comfort with fast‑paced, emotionally charged situations
- Kindness, teamwork, and a steady, supportive presence
- Experienced and/or credentialed technicians highly encouraged to apply
- Willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and strong work ethic

Pay Range
: $24.30 – $31.90 USD per hour
