Precision Metrology Quality Inspector (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Do you spot a trend at a glance? Do drawings, specs, and GD&T callouts read like a second language to you? If you thrive on precision and collaboration, this role puts you at the heart of aerospace quality.

Your impact

From receiving through shipment, you’ll be the safeguard for conformity—partnering with Certified Inspectors, Product Quality Engineers (PQEs), Customer Logistical Certification and Shipping Reviewers (CLCSRs), and Designated Quality Representatives (DQRs) to ensure every requirement is met and documented.

Your day, start to finish
  • Receive & review: Execute incoming inspections to the plan and customer requirements; reconcile certs, test reports, and documentation to the PO, drawings, and specifications; obtain CLCSR approval where required.
  • Prove the setup: Run first piece inspections to confirm tool offsets, fixtures, and processes before full production.
  • Control the process: Perform in‑process inspections, flag defects or trends immediately, and verify rework effectiveness prior to release.
  • Protect the customer: Complete final inspections to drawings, specs, and contract terms; collaborate with DQRs for customer documentation and final review.
  • Close the loop: Log nonconformances in the QMS/ERP with precise detail; support MRB decisions, PQE root‑cause work, and 8D corrective actions; validate effectiveness at the product level.
What you’ll need to excel
  • Experience in manufacturing or aerospace inspection
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Comfort with precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages) and understanding CMM reports
  • Meticulous documentation and strong defect identification/communication skills
  • Preferred: exposure to AS9100 or ISO 9001; aerospace manufacturing experience
Performance measures
  • Complete, accurate inspection documentation
  • Effective first piece and in‑process detection
  • Accurate incoming certification review
  • On‑schedule inspection completion
  • Low escape rate with strong prevention activity
  • Timely, clear communication and escalation

  • GD&T
  • Quality Inspection Experience
  • Tolerance Analysis
  • Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology
  • Advanced Inspection & Gauge Measurement
Tools you’ll use
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) (Hexagon)

Schedule & pay
  • Full‑time, Monday–Friday, first shift
  • Overtime as required
  • Compensation depends on experience and certifications

If you’re ready to keep defects from ever reaching a customer while helping teams improve every day, we’d love to meet you.
