JOB TITLE: Residential Counselor

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full‑time, 40 hours/week

Tuesday–Saturday 4 pm–12 am

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Mill House is a community‑based group home that provides 24‑hour staffing and a built‑in therapeutic component for 4 boys aged 14‑21 who have experienced serious emotional and behavioral problems and who have lived in more restrictive programs or institutions. The home allows the boys to live in a more familial, natural setting within the community. The program emphasizes maximizing each boy’s ability to develop skills for living successfully outside of an institutional setting through participation in normative community activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains physical environment and program standards set by funders, accreditors, and agency policies.
  • Monitor self‑administration of client medications in accordance with the agency medication policies and procedures as program may require.
  • Effectively utilize appropriate communication methods/tools to collaborate with co‑workers and clients.
  • Teach and assist all residents in areas of developmentally appropriate activities of daily living.
  • Assist/Manage administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor.
  • Prepare and facilitate educational and skill‑building groups and one‑to‑one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
  • Collaborate and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
  • Assist residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years’ experience working with a relevant population preferred.

Education:

Bachelor of Arts or better.

COMPENSATION:

$19.00/hour minimum, and up commensurate upon experience.

Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience and internal equity, as well as, adherence to our internal equity policy.
