Construction Estimator

The Position

This full‑time, in‑office Construction Estimator is responsible for initial review of construction estimates in Xactimate and Symbility, providing detailed line‑item feedback and recommendations that align with our goals. The estimator also creates construction estimates from the ground up based on digital sources.

This is a new position for DSI, with potential to evolve into a management role overseeing a team and utilizing current and forthcoming technology sources to build high‑quality construction estimates. The estimator will work with the V.P. of construction to develop standard operating procedures and create process maps to streamline estimating. The role is in office, with occasional work‑from‑home opportunities.

This position starts at $70,000 up to $80,000 depending on experience, with up to a 20% bonus.

• Review job site information from photos and notes from field personnel.
• Estimate projects using Xactimate and Symbility.
• Provide training and feedback to estimators.
• Understand and provide feedback on monthly adjustments to estimating software.
• Submit complete estimates for approval within the required timeframe.
• Experience with 3D scanning software such as Matterport is highly desirable.
• Effective communication with internal team, project managers, and insurance adjusters.
• Produce supplements and change orders as needed.

• Expert construction estimator in Xactimate and Symbility.
• Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience, 10+ preferred.
• Ability to produce estimates that deliver excellent profit margins.
• Previous experience working with TPAs required.
• Capacity to handle high volume and execute estimates quickly on tight deadlines.
• Ability to train estimators on preferred guidelines and latest industry trends.
