Responsibilities

  • Checks material for OS&D (Overage, Shortage, and Damage).
  • Checks material against the packing list and purchase orders to ensure the right product and quantity have been received.
  • Review the purchase order instructions to determine any special instructions.
  • Contacts vendors by phone or email regarding discrepancies.
  • Contacts purchasing by phone or email with questions regarding discrepancies, purchase orders, or instructions.
  • Labels product and puts it into the proper location per Receiving procedures.
  • Enters material into the job pile per the job pile procedure.
  • Sends packing lists/Bills of lading to purchasing.
  • Coordinates with Material Handlers to set up the location area for new job piles.
  • Does inventory checks on Gas, welding supplies, and stock inventory.
  • Sends order list to purchasing.
  • Monitors and takes out trash from the distribution area.
  • Performs nightly building shutdown per instructions.
  • Helps material handlers when needed.
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor.
Working Conditions and

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs without mechanical assistance. Extended periods of standing, bending, and stooping. Sitting and working at a computer. Some outdoor work.

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of previous shipping/receiving experience required.
  • Computer knowledge, good communication skills, and forklift operation required.
  • Reasoning ability with attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
