Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Clinic at North Mississippi Health Services (NMMC‑Tupelo) is responsible for providing high‑quality patient care. The position includes patient scheduling, medication administration, nursing procedures, patient education, acting as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, and office staff, and triaging walk‑in patients and telephone calls. The nurse must possess strong communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to handle stressful situations while delivering quality care to patients of various age groups.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to facilitate high‑quality patient care, including scheduling patients, calling in medication refills, administering medications, working up patients, performing skilled nursing procedures, and screening lab/test results.
- Assist physician/nurse practitioner with patients.
- Provide case management duties for patients seen at North Mississippi Medical Clinics.
- Act as liaison between physician, patient, families, and office staff.
- Actively promote a patient‑focused approach to care delivery.
- Triage walk‑in patients and telephone calls.
- Maintain written or computerized records of patient care events performed (medications, treatments, procedures).
- Initiate, perform, and develop patient education materials; provide and document patient teaching.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- RN – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- 1–3 years
- Maintains and enhances knowledge and skills in current technology and practice to provide care across all age groups.
- Primary accountability for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the patient care process in the clinic; acts as a role model of professional nursing practice.
- Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinic staff.
- Promotes teamwork through professional communication, mutual respect, and support of clinic goals.
