Position: Travel Labor and Delivery Nurse - $2,268 per week

Job Overview

Labor & Delivery travel nurse (RN) assignment in Winfield, Kansas at a critical access hospital. 13‑week contract, 12‑hour night shifts (19:00–07:00), 36 hours per week.

  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
  • Salary based on 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with tax‑free stipend to be determined
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience; travel nursing experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Active Kansas (KS) or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
  • Certifications:

    ACLS, BLS, NRP, COVID‑19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
  • Experience with Centricity EMR / EHR preferred
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive maternal‑newborn care for high‑risk and vaginal deliveries, C‑sections, and postpartum management.
  • Perform triage and assessment of obstetrical patients, including sterile speculum exams, NSTs, reflex checks, and sterile vaginal exams.
  • Use external and internal fetal monitoring, place and calibrate IUPCs, recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
  • Administer medications and blood products safely (antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, terbutaline).
  • Start and maintain IVs, manage infusion pumps/drips, and perform venous blood draws.
  • Assist with forceps/vacuum extraction, hemorrhage and shock management, and perioperative recovery for C‑section patients.
  • Perform newborn assessments: APGAR scoring, cord care, metabolic screens, phototherapy management, and stabilization for transfer when needed.
  • Provide patient education and discharge teaching including breastfeeding/lactation support and circumcision care instructions.
  • Float to other units as needed to support hospital staffing and continuity of care.
