Job Overview

As a Field Merchandiser you will work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, establish retailer relationships, and serve as the face of Hallmark. You collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support team members with seasonal resets and installations. Occasionally you may work with products from other companies in the stores you service.

  • Your starting hourly pay rate will be $12.50 - $14.50, depending on your skills and experience.
  • Hallmark part‑time employees are offered voluntary benefits including medical, dental, vision, critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity, and preventive care.
  • Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
  • This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
  • Average weekly hours are between 3‑7 hours per week.
  • Availability the week before and after major holidays, including weekends, is required.
  • Availability to support seasonal changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
Your Role and Responsibilities

You will perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The role consists of three major components:

  • Day‑to‑day engagement: Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, you restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark inventory. Technology is critical for day‑to‑day work, communication with your supervisor, reporting time, providing feedback, and completing required surveys. Professional and courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers is essential. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at your assigned stores.
  • Holiday support: Hallmark’s operations revolve around seasonal demand. Leading up to and following holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, you may need additional days and extended hours, including the holiday itself or weekends.
  • Department resets: You may be part of a team responsible for installing and resetting Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and other related tasks. Notification typically occurs two weeks in advance, with assignments that may include evenings or weekends.
  • One Team Vision: As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you are part of a network of merchandiser professionals that support each other in their territories.
  • Physical Requirements

    This is a physically demanding job that requires a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds during the workday and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You must also kneel, squat, walk, stand, and may need to climb stairs and step ladders.

    • You are at least 18 years of age.
    • You can read, write, and understand English.
    • You can grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
    • You can operate a digital hand‑held device to view documents and interpret information.
    • You have access to Wi‑Fi and the internet.
    • You have consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
