Description
The Operations Coordinator Breast Imaging reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with physicians and staff, both internal and external, to cultivate an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring efficient patient flow and problem-solving.
- Oversees staff across different breast imaging locations
- Facilitate the delivery of high-quality patient care and services in alignment with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Joint Commission and multidisciplinary hospital policies.
- Implement, evaluate, and uphold service standards consistently throughout the department.
- Manage patient flow to ensure a positive patient experience and optimize departmental operations.
- Promote and facilitate collaborative, multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
- Coordinate critical situations involving patients, staff, and visitors, providing guidance and support.
- Identify and communicate key issues and trends to management for review and resolution.
- Uphold the organization’s philosophy and objectives while promoting teamwork and collaboration among staff.
- Resolve issues independently while seeking assistance when necessary, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Assist the manager in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting new candidates.
- Support the manager with performance reviews, competency documentation, and staff training programs.
- Assess and communicate staff development needs to management to enhance skills and competencies.
- Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and addressing vacation and leave requests.
- Approves timecards, as needed
- Monitor operations proactively, adjusting staffing levels based on patient volumes to prevent scheduling conflicts.
- Facilitate the orientation and training of new staff members, ensuring they are equipped for their roles.
- Act as a resource for team members regarding departmental processes and systems.
- Ensure continuity of care through effective interactions with other departments such as surgery, pathology, scheduling and registration.
- Collaborate with technical coordinators and leadership to maintain quality imaging services and patient care.
- Provide constructive feedback to management regarding staff performance and departmental operations.
- Participate in or lead projects and initiatives aimed at departmental improvement and efficiency.
- Maintain proficiency in all required applications and act as a operational subject matter expert for staff.
- Perform exams to the expected standards of license, as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet the evolving needs of the breast imaging department.
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Mammography (M) OR American Registry for Diagnostic Sonographer (ARDMS) Breast Ultrasound (BR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
