Registered Nurse Surgical Intermate Part Time Nights

Part-time

  • Salary Range Minimum: $34.50
  • Salary Range Maximum: $55.20
  • Compensation: USD 34.5 - USD 55.2 per hour

Part-time Nights 7pm-7:30am with rotating weekends.

Unit

Overview
  • 26‑bed unit designed to provide treatment, care, and service to adult patients with acute medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions specializing in complicated surgeries.
  • Patient population includes but is not limited to esophagectomies, whipples, surgical‑oncology cases, high‑volume liposuction, multi‑level spinal fusions, and vascular cases. Other opportunities for this unit will be any surgical patients that require a medication drip that is not appropriate for the medical‑surgical inpatient unit.
  • This unit will also be open to medical step‑down and overflow patients to enhance hospital throughput.
  • Direct care of the 2A patients will be provided by registered nurses with an ideal ratio of 1:3‑4 patients for step down level of care.
Staff Nurse Inpatient Role

The Staff Nurse Inpatient reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized plans, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
  • Direct care and determine the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
  • Collaborate with patient, family, physicians, and ancillary staff; create a documented plan focused on outcomes and decisions related to the care and delivery of services, indicating communications with patients, families, and others.
  • Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
  • Evaluate and document the patient’s responses to nursing interventions in the health record; properly individualize the plan of care based on the evaluation of findings.
  • Utilize the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
Qualifications
  • State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Strong analytic abilities.
  • Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in specific clinical area.
  • Additional preferences for the Emergency Room and the Pediatric Emergency Room.
  • Emergency Communications Registered Nurse.
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse.
