Description

Hours:

7 p – 7 a with every third weekend rotation.

The Staff Nurse Inpatient reflects the mission, vision and values of NM, abides by the Code of Ethics and Compliance Program, and meets all relevant policies, procedures, regulations and accreditation standards.

As a clinically competent, registered professional nurse, you’ll prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for acutely ill patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. You will interact with patients, significant others, and health‑team members while maintaining ANA standards.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized plans, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
  • Direct care and determine the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in direct patient care.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff; create documented plans that focus on outcomes and communicate decisions.
  • Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
  • Evaluate and document patient responses to interventions in the health record and individually adjust the plan of care based on findings.
  • Use evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others
  • Strong analytic abilities
  • Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of first day in a clinical nurse role.

Preferred

  • Experience in a specific clinical area
  • Preference for Emergency Room and Pediatric Emergency Room settings
  • Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS)
  • Emergency Communications Registered Nurse
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse
  • Certified Emergency Nurse
