Weekender Registered Nurse Medical intermediate Part Time Nights

Overview

Weekender Part Time Nights, 7pm-7:30am – CDH Med/Surg Intermediate (3C). 26‑bed fast‑paced, high‑acuity Intermediate Medical Surgical Unit. Staff nurses are highly engaged, active in shared governance and committed to multidisciplinary rounds at the bedside. They reflect NM’s mission, vision and values while adhering to the Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program and all regulatory standards.

• Prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care to acutely ill patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation.
• Effectively interact with patients, significant others and health team members while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
• Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized plans, coordinate care delivery and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians and ancillary staff; create a documented plan focused on outcomes and decisions about care and delivery of services with communication.
• Participate in shared governance, committee work and unit projects.
• Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record, individualizing the plan of care accordingly.
• Utilize best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• Basic Life Support
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytical abilities
• For Emergency Room: ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and TNCC within one year of hire
• For Pediatric Emergency Room:
  Pediatric Advanced Life Support and TNCC within one year of hire

• Experience in specific clinical area
• Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS)
• Emergency Communications Registered Nurse
• Certified Pediatric Nurse
• Certified Emergency Nurse

• Prepost PACU Department: PALS, ACLS
