Weekender Part time (Days 7am-7:30pm)

CDH Med/Surg Intermediate (3C) – 26 bed fast paced, high acuity Intermediate Medical Surgical Unit

Highly engaged staff active in shared governance and committed to multidisciplinary rounds at the bedside.

• Clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
• Effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
• Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement an individualized plan, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Direct care and determine the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborate with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff. Create a documented plan focused on outcomes and decisions related to the care and delivery of services that indicates communications with patients, families, and others.
• Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluate and document the patient's responses to nursing interventions in the health record and properly individualize the plan of care based on the evaluation of findings.
• Utilize the best available evidence, including research findings to guide practice decisions.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• Basic Life Support
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytic abilities
• Additional requirements for Emergency Room: ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and TNCC within one year of hire
• Additional requirements for Pediatric Emergency Room:
  Pediatric Advanced Life Support and TNCC within one year of hire

• Experience in specific clinical area
• Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS)
• Emergency Communications Registered Nurse
• Certified Pediatric Nurse
• Certified Emergency Nurse

• PALS
• ACLS
