Communications Specialist

Duration:12+ months with Possible extension

Pay Rate:$29.50- $32/hr on W2 (Onsite)

Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday7:00-4:00/8:00-5:00

Daily Duties:

• Partners with business leadership to create and implement communications strategy and ensures the performance of communications generalist activities.
• Draft messages on behalf of the plant leader leveraging the primary and secondary messages laid out in the site Communications Plan. Must also follow communications approval process to ensure that messages are reviewed by legal, employee relations, etc., as needed.
• Create a regular cadence of communication and maintain an up-to-date content calendar.
• Distribute messages using the best channels available to employees at the site.
• Create, edit, and distribute short video messages as required.
• Develop agenda, support messaging and materials for live/in-person meetings and ensure that all shifts are provided with the same level of access to the meetings.
• Train local leaders on expectations related to communications flow down. Ensure that they know how to use talking points and how to decline to answer questions that are out of bounds.
• Support site branding and signage refresh in partnership with local site leadership.
• Be present on the site to keep a finger on the pulse of the culture and ensure message tone is credible and aligns with the site.
• Stay closely aligned with broader Maintenance, Technology and Operations and Commercial Engines and Services Communications Strategy.

Qualification:

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently on tactical deliverables and incorporate strategic viewpoint
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to build relationships and gather feedback on communications
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications
• 3 – 5 years of experience communications, preferably in a manufacturing environment
