Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Nursing Contract - Winfield, KS
Labor & Delivery RN (Travel) - 13-week assignment in Winfield, KS (zip 67156). Join a critical access hospital L&D team and provide high-quality maternal-newborn care as a travel nurse. This night‑shift Labor & Delivery nursing job is ideal for experienced L&D RNs seeking a supportive small‑town setting and meaningful clinical impact.
Job Details- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130

- Start Date: April 20, 2026
- Shift: 3x12‑hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00), every third weekend required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Critical Access Hospital - Labor & Delivery Unit (maternal-newborn, obstetrics)
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience; travel nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Active Kansas (KS) or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP
- Experience with Centricity EMR / EHR preferred
- COVID‑19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Provide comprehensive maternal-newborn care including high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C‑sections, and postpartum management
- Perform triage and assessment of obstetrical patients, sterile speculum exams, NSTs, reflex checks, and sterile vaginal exams
- Use external and internal fetal monitoring, place and calibrate IUPCs, and recognize/treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Administer medications and blood products safely (antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, terbutaline)
- Start and maintain IVs, manage infusion pumps/drips, and perform venous blood draws
- Assist with forceps/vacuum extraction, hemorrhage and shock management, and perioperative recovery for C‑section patients
- Perform newborn assessments: APGAR scoring, cord care, metabolic screens, phototherapy management, and stabilization for transfer when needed
- Provide patient education and discharge teaching including breastfeeding/lactation support and circumcision care instructions
- Float to other units as needed to support hospital staffing and continuity of care
