The Cardiac Cath Lab RN is a full-time, on-site role based at William Newton Hospital in Winfield, KS. This role is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related interventional cardiology procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing patients and procedure rooms, circulating and assisting during Cath Lab procedures, monitoring patients’ hemodynamic status, administering medications, and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
The RN will collaborate closely with cardiologists, technologists, and other clinical team members to ensure safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. Additional duties include patient education before and after procedures, accurate documentation, participation in quality and safety initiatives, and adherence to all hospital and regulatory standards.
- Strong clinical foundation in Nursing and Cardiac Nursing, with the ability to care for acute and high-risk cardiac patients.
- Proficiency in Cath Lab and Cardiac Cath procedures, including patient preparation, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure monitoring.
- Experience or familiarity with Cardiology practices, terminology, and diagnostic/interventional cardiac procedures.
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; additional cardiac-related certifications (e.g., CCRN, RCIS) are preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, including participation in on-call rotations as needed.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient education skills, with a commitment to compassionate, culturally sensitive care.
- Previous Cath Lab, critical care, or emergency department nursing experience strongly preferred.
