Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Analyst for the Mining & Metals team, based in Winnemucca, Nevada. The purpose of this role is to collect, study, and analyze project and GBU ES&HS data, and to support the development and implementation of improvement efforts that enhance incident prevention, learning and development, Craft Based Leadership (CBL), and Six Sigma.
Major Responsibilities- Assist in implementing the company's ES&HS program and ES&HS Management System, ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
- Help develop, implement, and maintain programs, systems, and procedures to protect employee safety, health, and the environment.
- Maintain ES&HS databases, including incident events, audit/findings, and corrective actions.
- Perform statistical analysis of ES&HS data to identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement.
- Support and innovate with software systems and electronic tools used by ES&HS personnel.
- Lead teams in risk assessment, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&HS issues.
- Prepare communications, reports, and documentation for program execution and records retention.
- Assist with incident notifications, lead investigations, and produce incident investigation reports.
- Recommend and implement process, procedure, and work activity improvements to reduce hazard potential.
- Participate in, and sometimes lead, employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
- Research moderately complex issues and provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
- Support ES&HS field and office personnel across all ES&HS disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
- Technical knowledge of computer-based training development software.
- Technical knowledge of Adobe Suite desktop publishing, SharePoint web development, Front Page coding, and Flash integration for training products.
- Proficiency with computer artwork and web design packages.
- Knowledge of learning and development systems, automating ES&HS processes, and applying computers to process improvement tasks.
- Familiarity with industry and regulatory standards and criteria relevant to ES&HS learning and development.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including preparation of clear and comprehensive correspondence.
- General knowledge of creating training, marketing, and communication tools.
