The Wildlife Educator for the South Region will serve in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW).
Schedule:
Mon-Fri 8 am-4 pm; hours may vary by season and weekends. Term of Service & Time Requirements:
Three‑quarter term, 1,700 hours.
Start date:
9/16/2026 – 8/28/2027. Monthly stipend: $2,066.66 and an education award upon successful completion of the term: $7,395.
Mission:
To protect, conserve, manage, and restore wildlife and its habitat for the aesthetic, scientific, educational, recreational, and economic benefits to citizens of Nevada and the United States, and to promote the safety of persons using vessels on the waters of Nevada.
The Wildlife Educator will be an essential member of the Conservation Education team, primarily supporting classroom programming, field trips, and community programming in the Las Vegas area.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating and evaluating existing Conservation Education programming, developing new programs, and training volunteers.
- Assisting on volunteer projects and educating visitors at the Lake Mead Hatchery Visitor Center.
- Developing and facilitating regional Outdoor Education events that demonstrate archery, fishing, and hunting activities for families.
- Monthly stipend: $2,066.66
- Education award upon successful completion: $7,395
