Position: Prison Education Class Facilitator - (Part-Time)

Job Description

Great Basin College is seeking to fill a part‑time Prison Education Facilitator position in Lovelock, Nevada. Successful candidates must pass the extensive background investigation required by Nevada Department of Corrections, including a two‑step TB test, and complete all required NDOC training. Please do not apply if you are unwilling or think you are unable to meet NDOC’s requirements for educators. Position is located at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, NV.

Lovelock Correctional Center is a medium security facility, and this position will be working directly with individuals serving time for a variety of offenses and sentences.

Duties
  • Be present in LCC classroom during scheduled classes, with security personnel from the prison
  • Proctor exams
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all testing materials
  • Provide feedback and positive reinforcement
  • Assist students with computer usage
  • Facilitate the delivery of Zoom‑based courses
  • Set up and shut down all classroom equipment
  • Assist faculty and students
  • Serve as a representative and liaison of Great Basin College
  • Answer and/or send/deliver approved written communications, assignments, and course materials as needed
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism with students, LCC staff, and GBC faculty/staff
  • Must be able to pay close attention to detail and have excellent customer service skills while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Experience with computer applications and other office equipment is a plus
  • Punctuality is required
  • Occasional travel to Winnemucca for GBC business may be necessary
Salary & Hours

Salary: $17.00 per hour. Available hours for these positions vary between 15‑19 hours per week during fall and spring semesters with a maximum of 79.5 hours per month. Shifts may include morning, midday, or evening, typically 3‑5 hours Monday through Friday. These positions are not eligible for benefits. Exempt No Full-Time Equivalent
