Overview
This role involves providing technical oversight of the project's ES&H compliance activities through inspection of project field execution activities. The ES&H Representative will assist project and construction management in implementing safety requirements and addressing ES&H issues during project execution, working closely with various project functions and conducting site surveillance.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate a wide variety of environmental, safety, and health disciplines to facilitate implementation of the ES&H program and management system, including compliance with standards, regulations, and contractual commitments
- Deliver toolbox talks and participate in site meetings to advise team members and contractors on safety requirements
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining programs, systems, and procedures to ensure safety, health, and environmental protection
- Maintain ES&H databases, including incident reports, audit findings, and corrective actions
- Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify trends and recommend improvements
- Identify and coordinate the use of software systems and electronic tools used by ES&H personnel
- Lead teams in risk assessments, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring of ES&H issues
- Prepare communications, reports, and documentation for program execution and records
- Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident reports
- Recommend and implement process improvements to minimize hazards
- Participate in and lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs
- Coordinate ES&H recognition programs and research complex issues providing regulatory interpretation and technical advice
- Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental, safety, health, or a science-related discipline
- 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of pertinent work experience
- Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 required
- Understanding of ES&H core processes (preferred)
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis for incident investigations
- Experience leading project contractor orientation and ES&H audits
- Knowledge of safety programs, principles, and regulatory requirements
- Experience managing or overseeing ES&H subcontractors or consultants
- Experience in ES&H assessments and inspections during construction
- Understanding of industry standards and best practices for minimizing ES&H risks during project execution
