Overview
In this role, you will assist in developing and implementing process improvement efforts to support ES&H (Environmental, Safety, and Health) tasks, particularly in incident investigations, root cause analysis, data capture, reporting, and Six Sigma methodologies. You will provide technical support and participate in ES&H learning and development activities, focusing on incident investigation and corrective actions. Additionally, you will support the identification of ES&H trends through inspections of project field activities and collaborate with various project teams to ensure ES&H compliance and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate a variety of ES&H disciplines to ensure implementation of the project's ES&H program and management system
- Develop and oversee incident investigation and root cause analysis programs
- Maintain ES&H databases, including incident events, audits, assessments, and corrective actions
- Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify trends and recommend improvements
- Lead risk assessments, mitigation planning, and monitoring related to ES&H issues
- Prepare communications, reports, and documentation for program execution and record retention
- Manage incident notifications, investigations, and report writing
- Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why, Why Tree, and Barrier Analysis
- Recommend and implement process and procedural improvements to reduce hazards
- Coordinate employee training on incident investigation and emergency preparedness
- Support ES&H recognition programs and provide technical advice on moderately complex issues
- Assist in researching regulatory standards and interpreting applicable ES&H requirements
- Bachelor's degree related to environmental, safety, health, education, or a science-related discipline
- 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong experience in project construction and safety
- Knowledge of environmental and health construction standards
- Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and associated tools
- Ability to develop reports, presentations, and manage resources effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with learning and development systems, ES&H applications, and automation methods
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of the client's ES&H processes and procedures is a plus
