Environmental, Safety, and Health Representative
The Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) Representative will support the implementation and oversight of ES&H programs within field construction operations. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with ES&H standards, regulatory requirements, and project safety objectives while supporting incident investigations, audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirement/Must Have:
- Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and OSHA 1910 regulations.
- Experience conducting ES&H assessments and inspections during construction activities.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for incident investigations.
- Knowledge of safety programs, engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
- Understanding of national safety laws, industry standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience managing or providing technical oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants.
- Ability to lead project ES&H audits and monitor corrective action completion.
- Experience conducting contractor orientation and coaching project safety teams.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental, Safety, Health, Science, or related discipline with 8–10 years of relevant experience.
- 12–14 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience supporting construction field safety operations and ES&H programs.
- Experience with incident investigation, reporting, and corrective action management.
- Understanding of ES&H core processes preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Environmental, Safety, and Health disciplines to support ES&H program implementation and compliance.
- Deliver toolbox talks and participate in site safety meetings with project teams and contractors.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of ES&H programs, procedures, and systems.
- Maintain ES&H databases including incidents, audit findings, and corrective actions.
- Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate software systems and electronic tools used by ES&H personnel.
- Lead teams conducting risk assessments, mitigation planning, and monitoring activities.
- Prepare communications, reports, and documentation for ES&H program execution and records retention.
- Coordinate incident notifications and support or lead incident investigations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to reduce hazards and enhance safety performance.
- Participate in employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
- Coordinate ES&H recognition and awareness initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and regulatory interpretation related to ES&H compliance.
- Conduct contractor orientations and support ES&H audits and corrective action follow-up.
- Coach contractor project and safety teams on ES&H processes and expectations.
