This US‑based gold and silver mining company operates its wholly owned Hycroft open‑pit mine located an hour southwest of Winnemucca, Nevada.
Job DescriptionResponsible for installing, configuring, updating, and troubleshooting network devices and systems such as routers, switches, firewalls, servers, etc. You will also monitor network performance and availability, and implement and enforce network security policies and procedures.
Should have solid knowledge of network protocols, standards, and architectures such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, etc. You should also have experience with network hardware and software such as Cisco, Juniper, Windows Server, Linux, etc. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and handle multiple tasks and projects are required.
Responsibilities- Install, configure, update, and maintain network equipment and software.
- Monitor network performance and availability and troubleshoot any issues or outages.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access.
- Support users with network-related issues and requests and provide training and guidance as needed.
- Document network configuration, changes, and incidents, and maintain network inventory.
- Research and evaluate new network technologies and solutions, and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Collaborate with other IT staff and vendors to ensure smooth network operations.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, system administration, or a closely related field preferred.
- Certification in network administration or engineering such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, etc. preferred.
- Proven experience as a systems administrator or similar role.
- Proficient in network protocols, standards, and architectures.
- Familiar with network hardware and software.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the Hycroft team.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Requires valid driver’s license.
- Adheres to all safety and environmental disciplines.
- Has a strong commitment to safe working practices.
- Is alert and observes, corrects, and reports unsafe conditions.
- Follows operating procedures and complies with all regulatory requirements.
