Seasonal Habitat Technicians – Water Development (2 positions)
Location: Nevada Department of Wildlife office in Winnemucca, NV

Employment Dates: May – August 2026
Schedule: 4/10 schedule with frequent camping in remote locations.
These positions are partnership positions between Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever (PF&QF) and the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). These are seasonal positions that will be employees of and supervised by PF&QF with daily instruction, quality assurance, training, and workload prioritization provided by NDOW. They will be stationed out of Winnemucca, NV with work occurring throughout northern Nevada. Main duties will include conducting wildlife guzzler maintenance and construction, with a focus on upland game water developments.
The positions operate on a 4/10 schedule and will require frequent camping in remote locations. An NDOW vehicle, basic camping equipment, and lodging in Winnemucca will be provided.
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct water developments (guzzlers).
- Assist with volunteer water development projects, including providing instruction and guidance to volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Valid driver's license and ability to navigate remote roads.
- Ability to hike up to 10 miles a day with a 50 lb. pack.
- General knowledge and experience with construction equipment, hand tools, and/or power tools.
- Ability to perform remote field work in varying conditions.
- Ability to load, secure, and tow loaded trailers with water development materials.
Any combination of training and/or experience that will enable the applicant to possess the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job duties. A degree or progress in coursework in Wildlife Management or closely related natural resources field is preferred.
Pay Range$19.00 per hour plus a field stipend.
