Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Mining Equipment)
Schedule:
12-hour shifts
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mining mobile equipment. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, mechanical expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Candidates must be comfortable working extended 12-hour shifts and rotating between day and night schedules if needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy mining equipment including:
* Excavators
* Dozers
* Haul trucks (40-ton to 100-ton)
* Water trucks
* Motor graders
* Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues efficiently
* Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and servicing
* Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
* Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards
* Maintain accurate service records and documentation
* Work collaboratively with operators and other maintenance personnel
* Adhere to all company safety policies and MSHA regulations
Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (mining or construction)
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
* Experience working on large haul trucks and earthmoving equipment preferred
* Ability to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision
* Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
* Valid driver's license required
