Communications Technician
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Communications Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining communications infrastructure in commercial, industrial, or mining environments. If you take pride in quality workmanship, work safely, and enjoy solving technical challenges, we'd like to hear from you.
Responsibilities- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Install and configure structured cabling systems.
- Install and service wireless communications equipment, access points, and network hardware.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain security cameras, access control, and other low‑voltage systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Perform cable testing, certification, and documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on schedule.
- Travel to customer job sites as needed.
- Previous experience as a Communications Technician, Low‑Voltage Technician, or similar role preferred.
- Experience with fiber optic termination, splicing, and testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation practices.
- Familiarity with networking equipment and basic IP networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot communication and network systems.
- Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and at varying heights.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- Mining or industrial facility experience.
- Fiber optic fusion splicing.
- Wireless point‑to‑point and point‑to‑multipoint systems.
- CCTV, access control, and VoIP systems.
- OSHA 10/30, MSHA, or other safety certifications.
- Competitive pay: $30–$60/hour, depending on experience.
