We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician within our Specialty Mining Chemicals team.

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating instrumentation and electrical equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing processes. They work closely with the maintenance and product line teams to support production goals, ensure regulatory compliance, and minimize downtime due to instrumentation or electrical issues.

This position reports to the Maintenance Execution Superintendent and works collaboratively with maintenance team members and other site teams to ensure that the site's maintenance and plant uptime objectives are achieved safely and sustainably.

• This is an on-site, hourly, full-time position
• Plant operations comprise two NaCN solution plants and one NaCN solids plant.
• The work schedule is 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
• Requires being on 24-hour call for 1 week at a time, approximately every four to eight weeks, based on business needs.

Safety, Health and Environment (SH&E): Adhere to electrical safety standards and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities. Participate in safety inspections, audits, and training programs to promote a safe work environment.

Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on instrumentation and electrical equipment such as sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLCs, motor control centers, and other related devices.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose instrumentation and electrical equipment problems using appropriate tools and techniques. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to restore functionality and prevent recurrence.

Calibration: Calibrate instrumentation devices and control systems in accordance with Orica procedures and standards. Ensure accuracy and reliability of measurements to maintain process efficiency and quality

Installation and Commissioning: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new instrumentation and electrical equipment. Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure installations meet design specifications and safety requirements.
