Lower School After Care Teacher
North Shore Country Day School, a JK-12 independent school near Chicago, seeks candidates for teacher positions in our Lower School Later Raiders Program (after school care) for the Academic Year. Preferred candidate to work Monday – Friday from 2:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., though the program is flexible in regards to scheduling.
Essential Qualifications- Monitor and provide caring and thoughtful support to students during free and structured play, both indoors and out.
- Monitor daily student attendance.
- Set up and clean classroom on a daily basis.
- Plan, prepare and implement activities for children.
- Perform duties as assigned.
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience required. (Bachelor’s degree or current pursuit of such degree preferred.)
- Possess a minimum of 1-2 years prior experience working with elementary age children (4-11 years old).
- Ability to communicate and interact well with preschool and elementary age students, as well as faculty, staff, administrators, and parents.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Punctuality, dependability and patience.
- Successful completion of a background test.
- $60 a day; this position is not eligible for benefits.
