Administrative Assistant in Public Safety

Location: Portage la Prairie

Join the City of Portage la Prairie as an Administrative Assistant in the Public Safety Department. This role provides vital support through dispatch coordination and community safety service management.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Public Safety, you will serve as the main point of contact for public and internal departments.

Your role involves administrative tasks, monitoring Community Safety Officer communications, and proper routing of safety-related requests. You will also track statistics, manage invoicing, and provide general departmental support for enhanced community safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support to the Community Safety Office

• Monitor and coordinate radio communications for officers

• Handle intake of calls and service requests efficiently

• Maintain accurate records and track relevant statistics

• Assist with invoicing and general departmental tasks

Requirements:

• Minimum two years in an administrative role

• Completion of Grade 12 and Administrative Assistant certificate

• Proficient computer skills and office procedure knowledge

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Experience in dispatching or customer service is advantageous
