overview:

reporting to the director of human resource, the file clerk is responsible for the update, maintenance, retrieval, and archiving of all organization files both electronically and hard copy file. The file clerk will provide reception coverage for breaks and lunches as needed.

key responsibilities:
  • organize both paper and electronic documents.
  • maintain filing system to ensure efficient document storage.
  • scan and upload documents into electronic storage system.
  • accurately label files.
  • ensure files are complete, accurate and properly categorized.
  • assists in maintaining file tracking system.
  • monitor file log out tracking sheet.
  • respond to request for files in a timely manner.
  • prepare inactive files for archive.
  • maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • perform related clerical duties, such as answering phones, word processing, faxing and photocopying.
  • provides reception coverage when needed.
qualifications:
  • high school diploma required.
  • 1 year’s work experience in an office environment.
  • organized and strong attention to detail.
  • strong proficiency in msoutlook, word and excel is considered a strong asset.
  • strong interpersonal skillsand ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention todetail.
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • knowledge of the childand family services (cfs) sector and legislation an asset but not mandatory.
  • demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of indigenous perspectives, first nations culture and traditional philosophies.
  • must have a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector check and child & adult registry check.
  • must be able tobend, kneel,and lift up to 20lbs.
