Library Technician - Public Services, On-Call

Reporting to the College Librarian, this position provides public services to library patrons.

• Performs general circulation duties in support of the Library’s public service operations
• Shelving materials; shelf reading; producing  for students and staff
• Providing general orientation, direction, and instruction to library patrons;
• Maintaining and demonstrating peripheral equipment to patrons (copiers, printers, microfilm reader, etc.)
• Assists with processing interlibrary loan requests
• Assists with processing student & staff  requests
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to work proficiently with Integrated Library System (ILS) software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, photocopying and printing
• Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, customer service, and multi-tasking skills

• Library Technician Diploma, or currently enrolled in a Library Technician program
• Library experience, preferably in an academic library

This is an on-call position (0%), commencing August 31, 2026. Salary will be Pay Grade 6, $30.76 per hour in accordance with the PPWC Collective Agreement.
