Position Summary
The Senior Purchaser is responsible for leading procurement activities for ODRA Road Sweepers, ensuring the cost‑effective and timely acquisition of materials, components, equipment, and services required for production. This role partners closely with engineering, production, and warehouse teams to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, optimize inventory levels, and support the organization's growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management- Develop, evaluate, and maintain a high‑performing supplier base for mechanical, electrical, and fabrication components used in ODRA road sweeper products.
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure favorable pricing, quality, warranty terms, and delivery schedules.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to support product improvements, reduce risk, and improve cost efficiency.
- Conduct supplier audits, performance evaluations, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Process purchase orders and manage the end‑to‑end purchasing cycle for key categories.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to meet production schedules while optimizing inventory.
- Analyze demand forecasts, usage trends, and market conditions to plan procurement activity.
- Resolve supplier issues including delays, quality concerns, non‑conformance, and invoicing discrepancies.
- Develop cost‑reduction strategies aligned with engineering and operational objectives.
- Monitor commodity pricing, inflation trends, and supply chain disruptions to adjust purchasing plans.
- Participate in budgeting and support financial planning with accurate material‑cost forecasting.
- Work with engineering on new product development (NPD), sourcing alternatives, and design‑to‑cost initiatives.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure accurate material availability and data integrity.
- Support Research and Development in addressing supplier non‑conformities and implementing corrective actions.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
- 5–8+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, ideally in manufacturing, heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery is required.
- Experience with complex mechanical assemblies and global supply chains preferred.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Solid understanding of BOM structures, machining, fabrication, and component sourcing.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Epicor).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications.
- Excellent communication, vendor‑management, and relationship‑building skills.
