Staffmax is currently assisting our client in hiring an experienced Sales Manager /Business Development Manager in the wholesale apparel industry to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping the next chapter of our brand’s success.

This role is open due to retirement after 28 years!

Pay and Perks:
  • Health and dental benefits
  • 2 weeks (negotiable) holidays
  • $60-70,000 + bonus or commission to be discussed

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across Canada and international markets, focusing on premium fashion retailers, boutiques, department stores, and specialty accessory shops.
  • Represent at trade shows, as well as at key industry events and client meetings. Lead pre-show outreach and post-show follow-ups.
  • Identify new business opportunities, key accounts, and strategic partnerships.
  • Build, strengthen, and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients, distributors, and retail partners to ensure continued success and satisfaction.
  • Stay up to date on product lines, seasonal collections, competitive activity, and emerging industry trends.
  • Work closely with design and merchandising teams to align product development with market needs and client feedback.
  • Contribute to building efficient processes. Recommend tools and workflow improvements to support team efficiency and growth.
  • Help shape the structure and culture our expanding sales organization by contributing excellent leadership, insights, and collaborative energy.
  • Have a seat at the executive level meetings
  • Must Haves:
  • 5+ years of sales and business development experience
    , preferably in the apparel, accessories, or lifestyle industries.
  • Skilled in developing and executing domestic and international sales strategies, including lead generation and full-cycle sales management. Expertise in identifying new business opportunities and emerging trends to drive growth.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, such as design, merchandising, marketing and finance, ensuring alignment between sales goals and brand direction.
  • Demonstrated track record of securing, growing, and managing key accounts, achieving sales targets, and driving consistent revenue growth.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for trade shows, client meetings, and industry events. Infrequently but occasionally.
